I'm down for letting her interact with characters from any and all worlds/universes whether they are related to the SC fandom or not - v -b

CHARACTER

Name: Matsuo, Rie

Nickname: Riri, Rie-chi, Ma-chan, Whatever.

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Birthday: June 23rd

Height: 152cm/5'0"

Would-be Self: [1]A leader that can stand tall and fight for herself with a graceful confidence that would allow her to be respected by others. [2]Also to protect those who have for so long protected her. To keep them safe from harm and be able to say with a bright smile that everything would be alright.

Personality:

Rie is an incredibly kind young girl who truly would love to be friends with everyone.

From the beginning, she has been a shy and introverted little thing, keeping to herself most of the time. When in an area that holds even a small crowd of five or so, her self-confidence tends to flat-line and she will more than likely press herself into a corner or find a spot that conceals her from other people. Her speech impediment accompanied by her chronic voice paresis greatly contributes to her lack of self-confidence simply because she feels as though she sounds too quiet or silly. Even among friends and family, she will still have a difficult time speaking up.

While she may have confidence issues, it doesn’t stop her from doing what must be done to assist others. It may take extra encouragement if it has anything to do with being in front of groups but, she most certainly tries her best because she wouldn’t want to let anyone down.

In the world of virtual gaming, Rie is able to achieve the persona that she desires most. She is viewed by other players as an inspiring leader and is known for her stellar social skills and willingness to provide help to others. It was these traits that earned her the respect and position of Legion-Empress, the guild master of Aurora Legion.

After Meeting Ella-

After spending a lot of time with Ella, she has become more aware of how to stand up for herself properly without making a huge scene or simply being a carpet and letting people walk all over her. She can hold her head a bit higher than before and speak a bit more clearly. There was a little progress made on her psychological stutter, making it a smidge less pronounced than it was. While in character changes she is easily capable of delegating and conducting others in an organized fashion.

Just Before Leaving Japan-

She has become increasingly aware of the states of other people around her. She is more easily able to notice when someone is troubled by something but this doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with her character changes. This awareness of those around her is part of what drove her to leave with Ella to try and become stronger.

While In France-

Rie found that there are ways for her to be a shield. Once again progress was made on the psychological factors that intensified her stutter, lessening it a bit more. She has gained a couple ounces of self-confidence and hope in her heart that she can indeed protect those she cares for. She has learned that standing up for what she believes in and fighting for others was not nearly as scary or difficult as she once thought and is more than willing to push forward.

After Returning Home-[Will be updated soon]

She had gotten nervous upon coming back to Japan but so far it seems as though her resolve to protect and fight for others has not faded. The longer she worked alongside everyone instead of behind them, she felt her confidence grow, not to an overwhelming extent but enough to allow her to feel as though she was an equal.

Biography:

Rie was the product of a loving couple, Katsurou and Etsuko Matsuo. They were so excited when she was born but due to complications, her mother passed away only hours after holding her new baby girl, leaving Katsurou to raise their child on his own. He was a loving father and it sometimes seemed as though he loved her twice as much, giving her the second dose of parental care that her mother would have provided. Their living situation was well-off compared to many but not quite up to par with just as many on the opposite end of the spectrum. They were poor but not enough so to be considered impoverished. They made due with their humble dojo home. Rie was raised around the honor and joy of kendo and before she could walk properly, she could be seen rolling around with a shinai or two. Not only would she begin to learn the swordsmanship that her father taught but, she would also become very familiar with domestic chores and handyman work that were necessary to keep their home running peacefully.

During her early years, he father would introduce his baby bean to his friend and their family who also had children. It was at this time that Rie would meet Keiko and her siblings. Despite the slightly varying ages, Rie became friends with Keiko, the oldest of the three children. Rie would also be introduced to her cousin, on her father’s side, Takeo, who, to her was like an elder brother that she loved dearly. While Rie had always been a soft-spoken young girl, she was found to have Vocal Cord Paresis while in elementary school. There wasn’t much she could do about it, nor the stuttering which was attributed to developmental factors at the time. With what little self-confidence she had, Rie went through her school years as an easy target for bullies. Keiko, who was rather popular amongst the children, often lavished Rie with attention, which garnered the jealousy and malice of the others. Initially unaware of the cause, Rie did her best to suffer through it silently. Her once solely developmental stutter became intensified by psychological factors adding fuel to the fire. In later grade school years, the bullying would escalate to physical acts such as tacks in her shoes or slop traps in her gym locker. Rie would do her best to ignore what she could and would never blame her friendship for the pain she was caused. Her self-worth meter was most certainly below zero this time.

While in a summer recess from her first year of middle school, Rie was gifted a Virtual Reality system and software for a game titled ‘Fantasy Master Online’. With the exception of training and chores, she seemed to be constantly plugged into the virtual world. Her father wasn’t quite sure what about it was so appealing but noticed that she seemed extremely happy when playing. Happy, she most certainly was. In the world of Aeremore, Rie was considered a gallant and regal warrior with a splendid set of morals and amazing leadership skills. It didn’t take her long to build a reputation for herself in the games community. She was known as the honorable guild master of the Aurora Legion and eventually earned the title of Legion Empress. Even though she had managed to become the strong being she’d always dreamed of in-game, becoming such a person in the real world was terribly far out of reach.

All of the confidence from her summer ventures was quickly shattered upon her return to her final year of middle school. Bullying resumed as if it had never stopped and Rie was back at square one.  It seemed worse than before but that feeling was chalked up to the fact that summer had left her exempt from “torture” for a duration of time. The remainder of the year would continue on just the same even up to graduation day.

After a particularly harsh day, being tripped several times, finding her uniform half buried in the garden after ceremony and nearly being pushed down the stairs, Rie returned home completely at a loss. In reality, she probably could have messed the bullies up pretty well but she never wanted to hurt anyone the way she was hurt. Following her evening wind-down, Rie made a wish to a star shining brightly in the sky. She wanted to change. To become a leader that could stand tall and fight for herself with a graceful confidence that would allow her to be respected by others. The morning after, she was startled to find an egg, its warmth an indicator of the life it held inside, resting near her in bed. She had no clue what was inside the vibrant egg, only a gut feeling that it was important and needed to be kept safe. Upon presenting the egg to her father along with a flurry of panicked questions, he simply gave her a knowing smile and reassured her that good things would come her way if she took good care of her egg and waited patiently for it to hatch.

Not too far in the future, Rie would be having new adventures in high school with her egg and friends.

During her first months of high school, she’d gone through quite a bit. She had met others that, like her, had eggs of their own and aspirations for who they wanted to be. Seeing people going through their own self-discovery had motivated her to try her best as well. Even Keiko and Takeo were trying hard. A couple weeks into her new school life, her egg burst open to reveal a rather prim and proper small gal by the name Etrielle Elladyr. This “guardian character”, as she put it, was born from Rie’s wish to change herself. Absolutely enamored with this being, Rie began taking advice and lessons from Ella who had made it her mission to morph Rie into a woman worthy of respect. With time, the two of them became good friends to one another and even found that they could tap into a power brought forth by their trust and belief in each other. They along with the others who’d unlocked a similar power from within themselves would continue striving towards their goals while attempting to survive an onslaught of negative hearts.

However, as the school year reached its midway point, Rie felt that something was terribly wrong. All around her, the people that she’d met, known and grown to care for were being injured. It wasn’t simply physical harm that did damage but also psychological harm had taken its toll on many. For a majority of it, nearly all, in fact, she realized that she had escaped unscathed. This thought bore down on her greatly. While she had learned to stand tall for herself with Ella at her side, those she cared about, some she did not even know that well, were being pushed down into the earth. They were all fighting battles that she was no help in. The realization that she had merely helped herself escape from her small little box and left everyone to fend for themselves or shield her was sickening. She felt like the king piece on a chessboard, far removed from the suffering and plight of those on his side to sit safely upon a throne. This was not the kind of leader she had wanted to become. Ella had also become aware of her own flaws and felt as though she had let Rie down. The two had nearly lost themselves to negativity before being saved by someone close.

It was pointed out to them that they had the means and the time to change themselves again.

As quietly as they could, Rie and Ella left Japan to study abroad. A change of scenery, as per her father’s suggestion, would more than supply them with an environment for self-improvement. They had gone to France. Rie wasn’t sure as to why her father had suggested that country in particular but, after being there for some time she had forgotten all about the questions she’d had. The school she’d been sent to, while still teaching basic academics, focused on an interesting system. The grade levels were set up as if they were kingdoms and each student was meant to become a noble knight that fought with their comrades. It was almost silly until their seriousness was taken into account. As she and Ella struggled alongside her brothers and sisters in arms, Rie’s second real wish for change came about. She wanted to protect those who had for so long protected her. To keep them safe from harm and be able to say with a bright smile that everything would be alright. The second egg appeared the next morning and Rie knew that she had her work cut out for her. If Ella helped her become a sword to fight, this new being would help her become a shield to protect.

After a year and a half, she would soon return to Japan and those she had missed so dearly just in time for the new school year. Hopefully, she would be a burden no longer.

After returning to Japan, Rie spent her third and final year of high school in a different mindset than the previous. She now had the drive to better herself alongside her friends and family. Her strengthened resolve gave her access to power within herself that she hadn’t know existed and from that resolve, Gisir Lusabrar hatched from her second egg. There were battles fought in which she was now the wall upon which the waves of destruction crashed. And a sturdy wall she was. She did not give in to the air of negativity that would threaten to tear everything she loved to shreds. Everything was going well for her. With the support of her loved ones, she maintained her strength through many battles. The biggest battle, however, took place on the evening of her graduation.

A violent clash with negative forces occurred on the evening of her high school graduation. In a panicked frenzy, people were fleeing in a myriad of directions, some managing to escape and others not quite as lucky. Those bearing eggs and the power they shared took up arms and fought to protect those who had been enthralled. In this, that would be one of the most epic clashes their city had ever seen, everyone poured all of their power into the fight. Those who had yet to transform and those who had but had yet to reach a higher level of power did so. The energy of the opposing forces was palpable and created a nexus of crackling energy at its center. In one final, collaborative burst of power, Rie and those she fought alongside beat back the threat and saved the majority of those in danger.

But of course, such a victory came at a cost.

Terribly weakened from the battle a number of students and helpless passers-by were caught up in the pull of the nexus which had morphed into a vortex of energy. Anyone who’d ever really seen a fantasy movie or game would come to the conclusion that a swirling vortex such as that would lead somewhere but no one could be sure where exactly. Rie, Ella, and Lusa, too exhausted to escape were pulled in. It took all the girl had just to pull her eggs into her embrace to keep them safe. She could not see who else had been swept up in the swirling mass of energy, it was too dark. Closing her eyes was the same as keeping them open. With a feeling of fear and a wave of anxiety, she curled into a ball and drifted. At some point, she’d lost consciousness but when she came to, eggs still cradled in her arms, she found herself no longer surrounded by darkness but in a lush forest, the sounds of nature echoing about. Residual energy drifted about, giving off a warm and comforting feeling, nothing like the vibes it had given off before but, she had no idea where she was...
